Dan Is Algae Biodiesel Going To Finally Get It's Due?

First and foremost, WE'RE BACK....with a new administration coming in and the Obama speak we heard on the campaign trail about BIODIESEL. He always made a point to speak about not just biofuel, but specifically biodiesel. He has an opportunity to focus investment by the U.S. government on developing current algae growing technologies to provide biomass feedstock production on a scale large enough for our governmental vehicles, heavy equipment, water craft, aircraft and mobile power generation eq… Continue

Dan Advocacy Is A Must

I went to a neighborhood car show today and they had a nice selection of alternative fuel vehicles. One of which ironically came on a trailer pulled behind a gasoline engine truck. Also exhibiting was a local biodiesel advocacy group, Northwest Biodiesel Network. The advocacy of this fuel option is critical. The level of misinformation on biodiesel is staggering. The mainstream media regularly treats it as an amazingly new development in the fuel industry. Y… Continue

Dan XL Renewables Sees The Opportunities

Articles are popping up more and more in main stream media about algae as a source for energy. One of the latest companies to get recognition is XL Renewables. XL was recently covered by Ryan Randazzo in a six-part series on the sustainability movement published by the somewhat conservative newspaper, the Arizona Republic. XL sees the opportunities algae p… Continue

Dan Diesel Wagons Rated By BioDieselNow.Com

The follow link is to a post that shows the application for this fuel is already highly useable and the potential for increased use is staggering. BioDieselNow.Com Making motor vehicle fuel from algae uses carbon dioxide as a resource for 2/3 of its mass and growing it on land that is otherwise not useable for food crops, sequestering some additional greenhouse gases while we… Continue

Dan Presenting Problems Without Current Solutions

A recent article by Elisabeth Rosenthal in the New York Times addresses some of the follies of using switch grass or giant reed as alternatives to corn, soy, palm oil or any other food stock as a biomass resource for the refining of biofuels. She comprehensively covers the negative impact on… Continue

Dan World Food Crisis Is Completely Unnecessary

The effects of using feed stock as biomass for biofuel production has without question impacted developing nations. It is estimated that over half of the world's population spend more than 50% of their total income on food. If prices double what are they supposed to do? The mis-information about the benefits of using any food stock to produce biofuel is staggering. Even the Agriculture Secretary of the United States, Edward T. Schafer, denies any significant impact.… Continue

Dan Valcent Products Algae Technology

Not using food stock or useable farmland and reusing 95% of the water required, how is this not the answer to completely replacing the diesel & jet fuel we are currently getting from oil? Algae sequesters carbon dioxide when growing to make up 2/3 of its weight, getting us much closer to a closed loop resource. Of course this is only a temporary solution, but would get us much closer to carbon neutral on these fuels. www.valcent.net From Valcent's websi… Continue
